(no subject)
OBF is still positively wonderful. We are currently working on B minor mass. I've gotten most of the Second sop. part under my belt which is helping to make it much more enjoyable. Just need to polish up the et resurrexit. We are giving two performances, one of which will be tomorrow night in Silva. They are playing some film while we sing and it is super strange. Very artsy-fartsy. Still it's a lot of fun. Then we give another performance on Monday night at this HUGE baptist church. This place looks more like a resort and conference center than a church. It's ridiculous.
It's an absolutely beautiful day. We had an early morning run-through with the orchestra and film this morning. Then a delicious lunch in the cafeteria (the food has gotten so much better since the youth choir left earlier this week), and a good nap. Now I am just finishing up some laundry and then Derek and I will be going to the gym. I hope to make it out to the open air market sometime today. I really want to buy a souvenir.
Mom and Dad come on Friday. Can't wait to see them. Next week will also be my turn with the masterclass students and the Haydn Creation. Then it will be time to leave. I'm sad. Granted it's a week away but at this point I'm just not ready to go. I could do this forever.
But of course there is the excitement that when we get home it will just be four short weeks until we move to Germany! Two more weeks of work and then some packing and a road trip to GA. Then we'll fly to NY and straight on to Frankfurt! I can't believe it's so soon. I met Helmuth's wife Martina yesterday and she asked for Derek's and my email address so that they can send us information on his Gächinger Kantorei in Stuttgart. I think it will be easy for us to sing at least a few projects with them as Helmuth seems to like both of us. I'm just getting more and more excited and less and less scared about this move as it gets closer!
