I really enjoyed Pirates, but I'm not 100% sure how much of that was due to being with my daughter, AND the fact that I love effeminate men/actors, (like Depp in this film), and I also love Geoffrey Rush (see my other post recently about him).. yes, I liked it, but then art/entertainment is subjective, eh? ;-)

And yes, you are Sooo right about American Pie and Britney Spears, and although Ashley (my daughter) is already "educated" enough to know that Britney is NOT music, she admittedly does love Avril Lavigne (not bad, but not high art by any standard), and she and I both watched Christina Aguillera's 'Beautiful' video together, which I honestly loved (brought tears to my eyes actually), but again, you have to understand the 'heart strings' associated to understand why... it's that underdog (effeminate male) stuff that I think the world needs. (macho-male-bullshit=war=hatred=anger=war, etc). Thanks for the kind thoughts, she (Ashley) should turn out fine, if not a bit quirky, as her parents are quite odd and the house is perpetually filled with Classical, Jazz, Tupac, Tom Waits, etc..

Fawlty Towers... like all good cinema, there is of course a section of the American public that actually enjoys silly (but brilliantly hilarious) British television like Fawlty Towers! :-)
