What would happen if a main candidate died or was otherwise incapacitated immediately before an election?
What about the day of the election?
What if they died after being elected, but before taking office?
Would they postpone, suspend, or rehold the election? Would they have to redo the debates? Is that fair to the other candidates?
If it was the president who died, would the vice president automatically take over? What if it was the vice president? Who would take over for them?
