We woke up and checked the weather this morning. It was around 31 degrees Fahrenheit. It promised to be around 58 degrees Fahrenheit later in the afternoon. Awesome. The temperature was going to double. Unless you looked at it in Celsius. In Celsius it was going from 0 to 14, which isn't exactly doubling. I love different measuring systems.
There was a book in the break room at work entitled "Baby Space." Something about making the most of a growing family with a shrinking budget. Whatever. In my mind hoardes of babies floated through the cold outermost reaches of space.
You know how some families just love a name so much they pass it down through generations? Does it have to be continuous? For example, say there was John Anunzio Smith III. He got someone pregnant and the baby is named Robert Wesley Smith. Then Robert has a baby and names it John Anunzio Smith IV. Does that count? Could I get knocked up by a Mr. Johnson and name my baby John Anunzio Smith IV for the hell of it? Does anyone keep track of these things? Another scenario: John Anunzio Smith III gets a son and names it John Anunzio Smith IV. He then knocks up some other woman, and she names her baby John Anunzio Smith IV as well. Does one of them not count? Are they both allowed to name their respective sons John Anunzio Smith V? Also: If Harold Wesley Jenkins names his son Harold Wesley Jenkins Jr, he'll probably put the Jr on the kid's social security card. But Sr's social security card will remain "Harold Wesley Jenkins" WITHOUT the Sr. Could I just name my child Something Something Something Sr? Would they put that on the social security card? Do you think the kid would be inspired to name their child Jr? I hope not.
