Girls' Night is tonight for Spanish House--it's been moved so many times I don't even know how it'll work but it's apparently tonight after the electronics workshop. It was supposed to be tomorrow night so I had already made plans with Jaime to go out, but now he's going to the movies with some of the guys and I'll be here with the girls. Should be interesting.

This entry kind of fails in substance.

Jaime's contribution:

Equation that describes the universe

R(a,b)-(1/2)R g(a,b)=(8 pi)T(a,b)

where R(a,b) is the ricci curvature tensor, R is the scalar curvature, g(a,b) is the metric, and T(a,b) is the stress energy tensor

Solution 1
Schwarchild metric
(spherical mass)
ds^2=-(1-(2 m/r))dt^2+(1-(2 m/r))^-1*dr^2+r^2(dtheta^2+Sin[theta]^2*dphi^2)

If measuring the observer measures zero motion for the mass near the spherical mass then the integrated time is

tau=Sqrt[(1-(2 m/r))]*t

where tau is the proper time i.e. the time measured by the particle near the mass
In other words the eqn shows that time is relative near different gravitational potentials
