Cats and busy life
Sorry I haven't updated in forever. I'm so busy and rarely home. If I'm not at work or asleep then I'm usually at practice...
I have managed to fit a few other activities into my busy schedule like house shopping. We are looking to buy a duplex with our friends Mike and Brenda, and while we aren't ready to buy just yet (we have some projects to finish before we can list our houses) we have started looked and even walked through a house two weekends ago. It was a great location but a little too small for our needs. Still it's fun to look:)
I went jeans shopping on Sat and was very frustrated. We went to 3 stores (Kohl's, Express, and Gap) and I tried on ~20 pairs, and only 1 pair fit and they were $60 (no sale or anything). I wanted to cry. I know some people don't think twice about spending that on a pair of jeans but I just couldn't do it! So I went home (not empty handed as I got a new red bag to carry my stuff to work) and found a pair in my size on ebay for half the price (NWOT even)! Hopefully they'll come by Thursday so I can wear them to work Friday for an event we have.
This week at work is the employee appreciation week so we have perks every day. Today we had a brunch of eggs, bacon, bagels, muffins, and fresh fruit, and tomorrow is my Aveda Juut massage! I'm so excited about that! I really need it!
Practice is going well and we are considered off book now and tonight we actually get to rehearse on the stage with a set (before now we've been using an off site rehearsal space). So that will really change the feel of things. We had a full run through on Friday night but we were missing ~4 leads so it made it feel very unfinished. Thursday last week we had a dance practice (4 hours) and we worked really hard trying to polish things. I am feeling pretty good about the choreography and as a result (and because I'm shorter) I get to be the in the front in the group numbers:) Unfortunately while we were practicing one actress slipped and fell and broke her wrist! She'll be able to be in the show, but it was pretty scary.
My coworker also fell and broke her wrist a few weeks ago, so she's been out on sick leave as it required some surgery. So please be careful; I really don't want to hear any more of my friends have broken their wrist. Two is plenty!
This week will be busy with rehearsals and Sat I need to paint my costume. Quite a few of us weren't very impressed with our costumer's skill so we're painting/dying our outfits ourselves. So far they are looking great, but I haven't been able to do mine yet. I also need to style my wig and add a few color streaks to it. I'll post pictures when I'm done:)
