I have done non theatrical things in the past weeks too. Saturday morning I went to the Eagan location of Feed My Starving Children for a work event. 35 of us volunteered there for 2 hours, packing meals for third world countries. I really enjoyed myself a lot and it was very self-fulfilling. I also love that it is a Christian organization and after we finished they prayed over the pallets we filled. My job while we were there was to heat seal the bags and then pack 36 bags in each box. It was a physical job, but I really enjoyed it. I was hoping to post the pics of the group in our hairnets, but unfortunately they aren't currently on the server, so I'll try to get them up later;)
When I got home I saw that Troy, his dad, and Trent had been hard at work and demolished all our front stairs and began framing for the concrete pour. Unfortunately we'll be in SD for a wedding this weekend so it will have to wait another week, and I'll keep having to use the back door as that first step's a doozy.
Sunday we went to church and then to Troy's parent's place for a lunch of yummy BBQ'ed ribs:) Sadly Sam & Karin were still under the weather so they and Travis didn't come. Gideon was sad he didn't get to see his cousin, but it also meant he had Nana and Papa all to himself;) Along with the ribs we also had a potato dish, fruit salad and turtle ice cream cake for dessert. It was tasty.
We didn't see my family that day as my Dad was really busy so last night (Wed) we met them at the Texas Roadhouse (great steak and BBQ place) for dinner, and went back to their place so Troy could help move the fridge (as they finally got new flooring in the kitchen), and I tried to keep Gideon out of mischief as cupboards and such were emptied for the renovation.
Well tonight I'm off to have dinner with the ladies from church (once a month we meet at a central restaurant and chat, this month is a Ecuadoran place), and since McCain is in town I better head out early as it may slow down my bus (plus there's a noon Twin's game today).
