*sigh* I am so freaking behind on this blogging business, and I only started like a week ago. Ah well, here we go with part 2 of my fabulous ringette weekend.
Day 2 - Saturday
Our first game was at 11:30am, and since we had to be there by 10:30 and eat breakfast before that and whatever, we didn't really have time to do anything before the game. The team we were playing (Chaos, I think their name was?) we had played once before in a tournament in my home city about a month ago, and they had beat us about 6-2. We knew we needed (basically) to win this game if we wanted to move to the semi-finals, so we were all pretty pumped for a good game. It paid off, because we all played amazing. Like seriously, we were on fire. My coach even said that it was the best game I had played all year. I'm not sure I agree with that because I'm way too hard on myself, but I still think I played pretty well. We were winning 4-2 at one point, but by the end of the game, we were tied 4-4. We expected to just end the game with a tie, but to our surprise, we went into 10 minutes of OT. I'm pretty sure it was the first time I had ever played OT; in league games, we just end with a tie. At the start of OT, we had two players in the box (I wanted to kill the refs, even though one of them was our bff Henry who's a ref in our city), but one player would come out in 13 seconds. So, we start the period, and the stupid timekeeper forgets to start the penalty clock. WTF? We were so pissed off, especially because as soon as our first penalty was over, they freaking scored. Goddammit, I'm still bitter over this. Ah well, it was a good game. But the worst part of it was that Chaos was staying in our hotel, but some of our players compensated by being total bitches to them everytime they walked past, it was hilarious. And one of the players on that team was my friend when I was like 7, but she moved away. I doubt she even remembers me, it's not like I ever talked to her.
The next game wasn't until the evening, so we had a while to do whatever we wanted. We went to Subway for lunch, then I chilled in my room on my laptop for about an hour because I'm such an introvert, but my mom finally made me leave my room to be social. I... chilled... with my teammates (crap, I'm already forgetting stuff) and this other hockey team that was staying in our hotel, I don't know what level they were, but I think they were all in Grade 8. They weren't even from the same province as us and they had no idea what ringette was. We tried to explain it to them, but it was pretty useless. Some of them even came to our game that night. There was this one kid, Alex, who was so freaking annoying, but some of the girls thought he was cute-ish *gag*. Everyone kept teasing one girl that she was going to give him a BJ that night, it was pretty funny, but I know she got really annoyed with it after a while. There was also this other guy, I don't even remember his name, who was really short with glasses and buck teeth. When we all stood up from the hallway we were sitting in, Alex happened to notice that we were exactly the same height (I'm incredibly short), which prompted him to suggest that we should date. The guy grinned at me, but I just smiled weakly. I know most people really hate when nerds are interested in them, but I've never really cared. Besides, it's not really something I experience very often anyways.
Dammit I have to go again. I'll give you the 2nd part of the 2nd day later (I can edit entries, right? That would be easier...) <3
