This one could probably use refinement, but my goal is to see what I can do in short bursts of time, and not concern myself with perfection. I am fond of the last line.
I bought it at a yard sale from
A family who're raising funds
To bring home a boy
Living in an orphanage
Half a world away.
Just as the liquid bitterness it makes
Helps me greet my morning,
So, I hope, my purchase
Helps this family greet their child
Soon
And hasten an end to their waiting.
