How is it 2008 Already?

Random life moment:  I was in the optomistrist's office for an eye exam today, and while filling out paperwork I got to list my occupation as "Actor."  Weird.

Sometimes I wonder if I should ever visit old friends.  Not because I don't enjoy it, mind you.  Quite the opposite.  I enjoy it so much that when its over, I get slightly depressed because I miss everyone so much.  And that's crappy.  So I have decided that I must bring a small contingent of Catawba folks out with me on the road.  That would be ideal.  Or better yet, we could use lottery winnings to build our own little community where we just hang out, get drunk, and occassional put on vanity theatre projects.  Of course, that would lead to all kinds of casting fights, but oh well.  You gotta take the bad with the good, I guess.

I sincerely miss just about everyone from Catawba.  I am very grateful that I got to see so many people over this past weekend, even it was only for a couple of hours.  I am also glad to see that everyone is doing well, and I am especially glad and proud to see that all of the Catawba theatre alum seem to be getting fairly steady work in actual theatre jobs.  Good job, everyone.  Good job.

I am currently stressing out trying to find a digital camera so that I can film an audition tape.  Since my tour is booked from next Monday through the end of may with only one week off, I won't be able to go to any unified auditions this year.  And although I am not a huge fan of unified auditions, they are probably the least painful way of finding work in the theatre (after all, better to audition once for a hundred companies than a hundred times for each individual company).  I am starting to worry, however, that I will not be able to procure a camera in time to film my audition video.  And even if I do, I'm afraid the fact that these people will not be able to meet me at a callback-type situation will work against me.

I have now run out of things to say, so I will merely say "Goodbye," and "Happy 2008!"
