I went to my last art class and brought home two nice arts. but it proves the difference between dells and macs; the colors are poor on this monitor. i was quite sad.
i went to borders got another Di Gi Charat comic, a book called speak recommended to me by another book, Wicked because i'm tired of waiting for my literally disinclined friend to finish her copy, and...wait for it....A NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS MANGA.
the movie in a single copy, 10 dollars to give you a sense of the size. obviously without repitition of the song lyrics. the lack of the lyrics does take away from the magic, but then again the fact that it's jack on a page not dancing and being spooky in "person" detracts from the general tNBC feel, if that makes any sense. However i do love it. it follows closely Sally the Ragdoll and her thoughts (did they do that in the movie?? O.o) making it stink of a shoujo manga, but a practiced eye could tell you it is most certainly NOT.
this little book begs of me the above question; japanese songs have very pretty vocalists, Thus would a Japanese Jack trump the Danny Elfman-english? I do not know and would love to hear people's opinions on this question.
This brings to my mind that old lesson of Disney's first works being inspired by Japanese animations, though i do recongnize that tNBC is not a disney movie, it got counted into Kingdom hearts as a level important enough to necessitate a costume change, therefore counts in the same category as these old movies. i mean, one would think that if they were going to make as obscure a reference as tNBC, they might as well have made Aristocats, Robin Hood, or even the Rescuers instead. These are equally considered as tNBC, because inorder for the trio to be accepted as normal individuals they would have to become cats, various woodland creatures, or mice, respectively. Another topic that i would like to hear some arguments about.
Speaking of mice, my next topic. My mom saw a mouse under my radiator. she screamed fit to wake the dead. my dad set up a trap near it's hidey hole. it got caught and died. this all was several minutes ago. But i haven't eaten much of anything, certainly not next to my radiator. the only thing that i've eaten in here is hershey's kisses. (and icecream but me n' b-chan are neat eaters.) and i've littered my desk top with the wrappers. the only thing the late mouse would've smelled, COULD'VE smelled, is chocolate. so, do mice like chocolate?
