CW: 9/11 terror attacks (no details)
As an adult, and just in the last few years, I'm beginning to understand more fully why and how the terrorist attacks on September 11th 2001 shocked and changed the world for a LOT of people. Both the enormity of what actually happened, and the ramifications afterwards. I came across a picture and video of the memorial (both from I don't know when, but certainly not this year as they were posted before it would have been dusk in the US) and thought they would be fitting as a simple way to mark the anniversary here.
ID: A nighttime city scene of New York; buildings with their usual lights on and the Ground Zero memorial of the Twin Towers lit up. They are two squares of bright white lights, with their beams visible straight up into the sky. In the background part of a body of water can be seen.

Video description: People on the ground at the memorial lit up. At first panning round in a circle, then it follows the beams up until they converge overhead, then spins around in a circle focusing on the point of convergence. No sound as far as I know.
