day 3

Aug 04, 2011 23:28

I am so much more a city girl than a country girl. I fell asleep serval times on the bus today, don't get me wrong the Scottish country side is so beautiful. But due to the weather and bad mist, didn't see it at it full potential. Glad I came on tour as helped get over jetlag and also made me see that my style of travel is solo and in cities where you can keep yourself busy for hours.

I am writting this while my tour mates are singing loudly, getting drunk and playing trivia. Am not involved due to just wanting 'me' time, and also had issues with not being able to withdraw any extra cash today so didn't want to spend all the my money on alcohol. (Just in case I have an issues with getting cash tomorrow.) This tour has made me realise that when I do Contiki to try and bond with people from the get go, or else you kinda get on the back foot with socialising.

I have always been the quiet one in a group of people whether its been with friends, boyfriends or strangers. Only area of my life where I am confident with socialising is at work. There is just something very powering in knowing that you are good at your job and people rely on you to help get their jobs done. I now know from this that I really do want to advance my current career and maybe also do part time studying every now and then.

So tomorrow should be good as last day of tour than hit Edinburgh city centre at night for a couple of Fringe festival shows and get to really explore whatever I want to. From the 30mins I spent in the city centre to get from train station to where my tour departed, I really liked the vibe of the city centre. Plus always good to hear the lush Scottish accents.

Then after that off to Amsterdam where I will push myself out my comfort zone by attending a massive gay dance party on Saturday then tour of red light district on Sunday. Then Paris for 4 days. Really counting down for Rome though as get to spend two days there with Trudy so should be awesome being with someone I know and have fun with.

Hopefully on contiki I don't make a drunken fool and get kicked out like I did last Saturday from a Melbourne place. That was a great night, getting the bouncer to ascort my geelong friends and I down the lift while the Footscray people were still in the bar.
