For some reason this is really touching. I hear about stuff like this all the time, but for some reason this particular video actually nearly brought tears to my eyes. It's beautiful.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr3x_RRJdd4 If you don't want to actually watch the video, at least read this description:
"Sometimes, a hug is all what we need. Free hugs is a real life controversial story of Juan Mann, A man whos sole mission was to reach out and hug a stranger to brighten up their lives.
In this age of social disconnectivity and lack of human contact, the effects of the Free Hugs campaign became phenomenal.
As this symbol of human hope spread accross the city, police and officials ordered the Free Hugs campaign BANNED. What we then witness is the true spirit of humanity come together in what can only be described as awe inspiring.

PS. The response to this video has been nothing short of overwhelming and touching. Hugs to every single one of you who messaged. There has been thousands of emails from all over the world by people seeking to participate in the Free Hugs campaign and asking for permission. You do not need permission. This is the peoples movement, this is *your* movement. With nothing but your bare hands you can make THE difference.
Imagine all the people.

It's such a lovely thing on its own, the Free Hug experiment, but when it was BANNED... what. the. fuck. This is another example of the stupidity found so often in today's world... and also how the power of beautiful people can overcome that stupidity.
The first person who actually hugged that guy, I think he walked around for a few days before anyone did... the first person who hugged him was an old lady, and she apparently said that she hadn't been hugged with such warmth and affection since her husband of 50 years died.
I'm not usually a person who passes on those sappy messages of goodwill and stories of happiness like this... but this one really touched my heart and I hope you will watch the video too and I hope it gives you hope as it did me.
Hugs are powerful things.
