Oh, we did VASP experimentstuff. Apparently it caps lamellipodium and filopodia. So the F-actin doesn't branch out as much and therefore speeds up its contractions, but moves slower than a cell with less VASP protein. I got to do the experiment the second time around but you could say that it wasn't really doing the experiment because Ben still found which cells to capture and still set up the computer program that allows the camera on top of the TIRF microscope to capture.
Yesterday I drew bugs with pen and did a wash over with watercolor. They came out nice, thanks to Jan's inspiration. She sent me 6 beetles in a glass case...absolutely trivial, but exceptionally beautiful. I gave them all away in school and I wish I had taken a picture of the one I gave Matt but I never thought of it. Haha, the Cyahrus convexus morawitz, jewish.
