Went to Staples today to see what could be done to the laptop. After the initial loading and booting of the system, I explained (to the best of my ability) what I could about its issues while simultaneously being mentally distracted, watching the thing pause in between opening up the starter menu and fail at opening program files.
And the problem was still a mystery.
The guy gave me two options: they could either do the basic virus scan and wipe for $9.99, or they could do the $69.99 one which does the whole shebang of diagnostic stuff to clear out things and junk stuff and whatever.
...I'm wondering if it's worth it, though.
I also just realized that each summer since who-knows-when has been terrible for me technology-wise. I don't get it. I really don't.
