So I heard this strange buzzing noise. I thought it was a fly and thought nothing else of it.

Okay, I'm assuming that you have more than one door to your house.
Or at least a large enough window to crawl out of.

So, why don't you, exit another door, go around, and open the screen door from the outside freeing the wasp?

You can ever press yourself against the screen door and pull it back as you go, keeping it as a shield between yourself and the deadly predator.

Yeah, I could do that.

However, I tried peeking at it when I opened the wooden door. I saw nothing there between it and the screen door. I'm guess it got out on its own through the small, half-inch opening between the top of the door frame and the screen door. Which wouldn't be surprising if it came through that space in the first place.

So...I guess the wasp crisis is averted unless it happens again on a later date.

Or it snuck back in and is simply waiting and biding its time, waiting and planning to strike.

And now it knows about your slipper threat, so it's going to be out for blood.

And maybe, just maybe, it'll bring friends...

...That's a possibility as well.

If that's what it comes down to, then fine. Bring it, wasp.
