Why I will be surprised if anyone fails our classes this term

IAFT is a REALLY cool school, really, and I've really learned a lot about the technical side of filmmaking and stuff. I'm also a bit more confident right now when it comes to shooting. After two months, this first term is about to end by this Friday, culminating in film+booze bacchanal at the tiki bar, where we will be showing our output for this term.

But before that, we have *gasp* FINAL EXAMS. Which I honestly find unimportant, implemented only to formalize the fact that you did finish the term and you did listen to at least some of the lectures. Not to discredit the lectures. My favorite subject this term is Scriptwriting with Axel Melzener. And Axel is such a cool, intelligent guy with such a structured syllabus any toddler can emerge from his Scripwriting 101 class with at least a basic understanding of how to write a story. But his final exam is just so simple it is sometimes a bit ridiculous. I could not help but giggle in the classroom while answering his exam.

- Aristotle was...
a. A mogul emperor
b. The inventor of feta cheese
c. one of the first people to theorize about drama

- Aristotle wrote a book entitled...
a. Feta Cheese Forever
b. The Academy: or, How I Loved my Teacher
c. Poetics

- The three-act structure is made up of the following components:
a. first act, second act, third act
b. exposition, confrontation, resolution
c. eggs, milk, flour

At the very least, Axel has a sense of humor. And hey, I really learned a lot from his class though, and now even have a few concepts under my sleeve. hehehehe
So technically, the only way you can fail a subject here is if you are absent too many times. Or if you have an IQ of -50

cebu, films, college, writing
