Mother Always Said
While looking for recipes to try out, I came across a previously unread
section of an old, yellowing cookbook my Mom used to have. It proved to be a most engaging and entertaining, not to mention educational and
enlightening read! The section is entitled:
HOW TO CLEAN A HOUSE
"All housework should be done from Monday to Friday. Saturday belongs to
your family... Supermarket shopping should be done by Friday evening...
Plan lighter, impromptu-type meals for the weekend, to permit the lady of
the house to join in the fun instead of keeping her tied to the
gravy-and-biscuits chore schedule in the kitchen..."
