So these last two years, My mom and Tito Gene have been trying to withstand the US recession that has hit them (as realtors) really, really hard. It's a good thing that Tito Gene still kept his day-job as a nurse, so he could still support his family, and mom.
My mom finally got her green card. She moved to a cheaper apartment that is closer also to Tito Gene's place. Now that she no longer had to pay for the processing of our papers, as well as hers, she could drop her job as a para-legal and leave her boss/arch-nemesis, Barbara. With Dikong's help, she bought a car as well, and finally got a driver's license.
The monthly "padalas" she was supposed to send us to help us get through school, however, were few and far apart.
Mom and Tito Gene finally became official, then a few months ago, he proposed to her.
They are getting married this October 4 in Westchester, a suburb west of Chicago. The color theme is "Emerald Green". Afterwards they will be going on a cruise along the coast of California.
Tito Gene is having his house renovated to fit Mom and me.
