Title: and the scenery was of departure
Subject: Ginko ( and characters from episodes 1, 5, 12, 15, and 25, with a passing ref to 22 )
Note: written for
30_friends; the section breaks are the relevant themes. title is from Rilke, slightly altered.

possibly not as pessimistic as it sounds. )

Can imagine the first four parts as completely natural sequels to the events of their respective episodes. (i haven't watched past 22, so cannot really comment on the last one)
But the alternative is to make promises that will, by necessity or inevitability, have to be broken; and that would simply be too cruel
Hence setting the pattern for the rest of Ginko's life ._.

i don't know, i rather like ginko's lack of attachment to things/people. ^^;

(youtube uber alles! apologies for the bad german, i just like the alliteration.)
It seems to be as much an occupational necessity as part of his personality...

( eheh. i've never tried watching anime on youtube; maybe i should. it'd save me a bittorrent download. )
true, that. like how he mentions his slight envy of mujika in ep 11, i suppose.

thanks for the comment! the ginko-amane connection is interesting, yeah; was surprised how readily ginko spoke to her about his past. and of course, they're both travellers now, so there's every chance that their paths will cross again. :D;;

and I am glad it's not only me that thought ginko and amane have an interesting connection.
