[Taking a patrol in the woods? Not unheard of, but Adell never really enjoyed doing it, even though he had a route mapped out. But the rustling in the woods nearby quickly get his attention and he goes to investigate.

He wasn't expecting it to be a New Feather, not so late in the month. Still, he keeps his distance a bit and waves.]

Hey? You okay?

[Well, she's glad that she gets to see a human. For a moment she was worried that maybe that place could be infested with monsters.]

I'm fine. A little bit lost, but fine.

[He nods and approaches a bit.]

Not surprising. Waking up here's pretty disorienting, but it's good you're not hurt. My name's Adell.

Ah, it's good to meet you Adell, even if the circumstances aren't really the best.

My name is Peach.

Nice to meet you too, Peach. I can tell you a bit about this place if you're confused. Lots of people who end up here tend to have no idea what's going on.

...But I'll be honest with you, most of it's not good news.

[Oh boy... the bad news just keep piling up. First Bleck and now this...]

I guess it's better to know the bad news than staying in the dark.

Dunno where you come from, but... it's not where you are anymore. And we're not talking about countries.

This place is called Luceti. It's an entirely different world than where you're from, as tough as it might be to believe. But all of us here are in the same boat. The people here, all of us, were somehow brought to this world from our own, and as of right now there's no way for us to get back willingly.

So you're going to be stuck here for awhile, unfortunately.

[Well, visiting places out of her world and even out of her own dimension was becoming common place for Peach lately, so that didn't surprise her much.

As for the part where she's stuck there though, now that's worrying.]

There's no way to escape this place? Why is that? Is there some kind of 'barrier' that prevents people from leaving?

That's... actually exactly what's stopping us. An indestructible barrier surrounding this area. We've tried hitting it with everything we have but nothing so much puts a dent in it.

[She didn't expect to get it right in the first try!]

Nothing can pierce it then...

Well, but why are we being kept here? I mean, there must be a reason.

There is.

This world's the site of a war between two factions. The Third Party, a bunch of fanatical, bloodthirsty winged warriors who seek to... pretty much wipe out all life, and the Malnosso Organization, a group of driven, amoral scientist, corporate and military types looking to solve the mystery of why we're all brought here, get everyone to their own worlds, and wipe out the Third Party if necessary.

..."Thankfully" we're prisoners of the latter. We're test subjects in their experiments in trying to find a way off this rock. The Malnosso do provide us with supplies and such to keep us alive, and they've drafted us to help fight the Third Party in the past, so they're not out to kill us at least.

It's a sticky situation, to say the least. Day to day life here is pretty peaceful, though.

Welp, now that LJ stopped being a douche for a second... mush_monarch July 29 2011, 01:52:31 UTC
Looks like we are between a rock and a hard place...

Well, like you said, at least we aren't at the mercy of the ones who want to kill us.

[She sighs in mild furstration.]

In this... draft, are people chosen at random? [Because, she so doesn't want to get caught up into this.]

Seems to be, but the Malnosso claim there is some sort of method in their madness. Something about "compatibility." I don't really understand it, but I guess it means whatever powers they use to put us into battle can backlash if people aren't compatible.

I see...

[She's kind of hoping she isn't 'compatible', whatever that means.]

So, Adell, is there anything else I should, hm, know?
