Lavi whirled around where he stood, finding himself in one of the few places he had no desire to ever be again. It was in the middle of the top floor of the Ark, the room that had the dinner table filled with food and where they had all fought for their lives. He remembered dimly dying there himself, the weightless feeling, the feeling of having nothing that he needed to do. It was a feeling he hated, that lack of a purpose.

He also hated the reminder of how he almost lost himself in this place to Rhode's games. Lavi didn't see her there, didn't see anyone but himself. But a flash of white moving catches his eye and the redhead whips around to find himself suddenly face to face with Allen. Allen grinning with an odd tilt to his head, eyes obscured by his bangs, who didn't seem at all put off by Lavi taking a staggering step back, "Curious, Lavi~?"

The redhead frowned carefully, unsure if this was really Allen he was talking to for he also recalled seeing Joyd talking to a version of the younger teen that was obviously a Noah as well before he'd gone to sleep. He forced his face to fall into a carefully schooled look, wondering if this was his own dream influenced with the Noah's closeness or if Rhode was truly around, "A little bit."

"Ah~ A true Bookman to the end~" Allen stepped closer again, fingering the Rose Cross on Lavi's jacket, "I bet I know about what, too~ Those little unvoiced questions~"

He laughed at Lavi's closed yet confused expression and took steps away toward the table, sitting up on it. "You know the one~ 'What would happen to Allen if his sword went through him?' That's one of them, isn't it~ Poor Lavi, so wracked with pain your dear friend unknowingly put you through~"

No, this wasn't Allen. He know that now. It wasn't Joyd, the Memory always used his own form or Tyki's to torture the Bookman apprentice, dimly Lavi thought of Fourteenth and another smirk spread across the familiar face in front of him, "Took you long enough~ I was beginning to wonder if my dear brother had left you addled~" Silently Fourteenth invocated Allen's Innocence and pulled the blade out of his right arm. "You want to see what would happen, right Lavi~? Why don't you run it through me~?" Fourteenth shifted the sword so as to hand the hilt to Lavi.

The redhead tried to take a step back but instead found himself taking a step forward, alarmed he looked down at his feet and began to fight the pull. But it was no use, apparently he had no free will here as his hand lifted to take the sword from Fourteenth, moving the blade so as to impale Allen's body with it. "St-stop this! I don't want to stab Allen!"

Fourteenth shifted off the table, stepping toward the raised blade until it touched his chest. "Do it, Lavi~ Such a simple thing to just push it through~ Won't even cut my skin~" To his horror Lavi felt his arms starting to push forward, forcing the blade into Allen, and tried so hard to stop it but it kept moving. Kept moving until the blade was halfway through Allen's body, the hilt trembling with Lavi's hands as he kept trying to fight. Fourteenth looked like Allen now, an Allen looking at him in shock, confusion, and in pain from the sword just like he had been. Only Allen started screaming, hand gripping his head as Lavi finally found himself once more in charge of his own body and yanked the blade out.

Allen fell to his knees still screaming as if his body was splitting, a feeling that Lavi knew all too well as he moved next to his friend's side, "Allen! I'm sorry! I-I couldn't control my body. It just..." He tried to support Allen, the other's arm suddenly back and both of them gripping Lavi's upper arms, his screaming finally silent as he tried to regain his breath. Suddenly the air around him changed again, the hair on Lavi's arms rising as Allen's forehead started bleeding, his skin changing to that familiar ashen gray. He knew what was under the blood, the stigmata, saw them now etched in Allen's skin as the younger teen lifted his head to look at Lavi.

And his expression broke the Bookman's heart, devastation and pain coupled heavily with disbelief, "Lavi... H-how could you?"

"I didn't want to do it, Allen! I tried to stop it!"

"I thought you were my friend. But you've changed. You were supposed to be an Exorcist."

Lavi looked at him in confusion, "Bu-but I am. I am an Exorci--" He trailed off, looking at his own bare forearms now the same ashen gray as Allen's. The redhead let go of Allen, trying to scramble away but Allen had too firm a grip on him, "Allen! I didn't! I swear it!"

"How could you betray us, Lavi?" A new voice from behind, Lavi warily looked behind him to see everyone from the Order staring back at him with accusation in their eyes, "How could you take away Allen from us?!" Lenalee, always so sweet now glaring at him as if she wanted to repeatedly kick him with her Dark Boots.

"The damn cheater was more dependable in battle and you just gave him over to your side." That jarred him physically, Lavi jerking back away from the group and further toward Allen who just tightened his grip on Lavi's arms.

"I'm not on their side! I'm an Exorcist! Guys!" They ignored him, drawing their weapons with almost the same air as Rhode's dream from what felt like years ago. Lavi felt something on his thigh burning right through his clothing, jerking away from Allen successfully this time as the other was again consumed by pain and screams. The burn followed and finally he zeroed in on the hammer that he had carried with him faithfully since day one in the Order but was now turning on him.

It burned his hands as he pulled it out of the holster and flung it at the crowd still unmoving. But the Innocence being returned was like the signal gun to start a race, they moved toward him as one murmuring 'how could you?' over and over until the words blurred. Lavi scrambled to his feet, taking steps away from them until he noticed Allen still siting there screaming. "Allen! Allen, come on!"

Allen still didn't move and the redhead moved back toward him, dangerously close to Kanda and Lenalee, trying to tug him to his feet still screaming. "Allen! Allen, come on!"

Allen still didn't move and the redhead moved back toward him, dangerously close to Kanda and Lenalee, trying to tug him to his feet still screaming. Slowly he stood, stopped screaming, and smiled. Lavi let go of his friend as Allen turned to face him, his back to the dangerous Exorcists. "Allen isn't here anymore, brother~"

Lavi paled, taking a few steps back as that hair-raising feeling returned, "N-no... A-Allen... You're sti-still in there, right? Th-this is a joke..."

"Oh, it's no joke, Lavi~" He followed Lavi's steps, for every one back Fourteenth took one toward him. "You were the one that freed me, let me have control over Allen~ Now I need to repay the favor, brother~ Joyd needs to come all the way out~" Again the sword was drawn as the crowd pressed closer, circling around the redhead and cutting off his escape.

"Bye-bye, Lavi~" A flash of silver, a sharp and familiar pain in his abdomen, the roar of another voice - another person - taking over his body. Someone was screaming again, but it didn't sound like Allen and distantly he recognized his own voice, already falling back into the familiar cage. Only to be shoved out again as Joyd protected himself against the Innocence now piercing Lavi's body in several places, Allen wa-- No, Fourteenth was watching with a twisted yet pleased smile on his face. "One and a half down, eleven and a half to go~"

Everything started going dark as Allen walked through the crowd untouched, leaving Lavi to stare up into the faces of those he had considered his friends. The cold stole his breath from him and then he didn't need to struggle for air anymore.
