Warning/Notes No one but Tyki is mine! Prompt was...snow.
The snow had been falling since morning two days ago with only a few hours rest, the skies still gray and overcast despite flakes not falling. When it did it fell silently, covering the ground, trees, and buildings with blanket after blanket until it was at least three feet deep if not deeper. Daniel didn't know when Pyrrhus and his grandfather were supposed to be getting back but he honestly hoped it was before the snow got much deeper. Otherwise he'd be heading out himself to bring them back, a rescue team since he had a bond with the redhead. Not that he minded going off and being Pyrrhus' hero, he loved it, in this weather it simply meant that something that could have gone wrong had. They all wanted to avoid such things when they went out on missions.
Daniel looked out the window of his room one more time wishing for them to appear before he left it and made himself go to the main room of their headquarters/home. There wasn't a soul in the hallway as he made his way there, Daniel couldn't tell if that was a good thing or not but when he entered the room he saw why. Everyone had been in there tending to a frozen and unconscious Kaien while an equally frozen looking Pyrrhus gave his report with chattering teeth to Adam.
He growled lowly, catching Lily and Pyrrhus' attentions as the rest of them went on like usual. Daniel walked over angrily while Pyrrhus trailed off, the others looked at him but the tall man ignored them as he picked Pyrrhus up - blankets and all - bridal style. "If you'll excuse us, you can ask for your report after Kaien wakes or Pyrrhus is warm enough to talk without his teeth chattering. Lives are more important," he growled at them as the redhead struggled to get a grip on his clothes. Before they could even say anything Daniel turned and walked out of the room, Lily trailing after them.
"Do you want me to bring anything to your room, Daniel?" He looked down at the petite girl and some of his anger disappeared, she would have gotten him - he knew - if it had gone on much longer or the redhead's condition had been worse.
"Heated stones or some more blankets if they can be found and spared, dear heart." Daniel looked back down at the shivering bundle in his arms, "It might take an hour or two before they'll be allowed to take him back. Though--"
"You'd rather they not take him back at all, right?" She smiled up at Daniel and he chuckled.
"Yes, that's right." Lily nodded and dropped back to get things and Daniel phased them into his room, heading straight for the bed to bundle Pyrrhus into them. He phased off his clothes and reached in to take off the other's layers, making room for himself to join and make it skin on skin. Daniel brushed his lips to the cold forehead in front of him, "Getting warmer now, sweetheart?"
He felt the nod past the shivering as his own body temperature dropped next to Pyrrhus', arms huddled up between them while his own went around the redhead. Daniel sighed in relief and tangled their legs together, holding him closer as he felt Pyrrhus do the same. He pulled the blankets higher over the redhead, waiting for Lily to turn up before he'd sleep himself, "Love you..."
Daniel blinked as he felt lips cold as ice touch his collarbone and smiled, "I love you too, sweetheart. Sleep now, you're safe."
