Character(s) Lavi (
halfamemory) & Kanda Yu (
stainedlotus)
Word Count 475
Warning/Notes Kanda's not mine! And. This was just what I thought of alternatively happening during the marriage meme.
They were stretched out on the floor of their bedroom with a game of Scrabble set up between them. Most of the tiles were already on the board and it was Kanda's turn. The tiles clicked softly as he laid them down, "KANDA" attached to Lavi's earlier "DRESS". The swordsman started to pick up his tiles from the back as the redhead stared at the word.
Without a word he playfully lunged at Kanda, wrapping his arms around him and getting a yell for his troubles as well as hair yanking as Kanda fell onto his back with the weight. "Idiot rabbit! Get off of me!"
Lavi refused to move, clinging tighter to him, "Nuh-uh. This is your punishment, Yu~ You used a proper name~" He started to hide his face in the swordsman's chest with a grin on it.
"It shouldn't matter!" He didn't have to look to know that Kanda was blushing - either from embarrassment or from Lavi's actions, "I couldn't think of anything else! Now get off!"
He turned his head back to look at the letters that Kanda had on his slide, "You could have done 'DATE' or 'DANCE', Yu." Lavi looked back up at him, "And it took you five minutes to choose your name instead of those." Grinning~ "Pay me~"
Kanda flushed more but didn't try to remove the redhead from on top of him anymore, "Alright, alright." His hand left Lavi's hair and slid down to cover his eye, a precaution against Joyd, and leaned closer to brush his lips against Lavi's. There was a slight push from Lavi, to deepen it or chase it, but the Bookman apprentice played nice and didn't push past his hand. They were supposed to be playing a nice and simple game of Scrabble. "Alright, I've paid you," Kanda's voice was soft, "Now get off so we can finish this ridiculous game of yours."
Lavi hummed softly and stayed right where he was, "I don't wanna play anymore. I just want to lay here with you." He wasn't looking at Kanda but he could tell that the swordsman was probably blushing more now.
"I want off the floor, idiot rabbit!" Kanda tugged at his hair and Lavi grinned, reluctantly pulling away and getting to his feet to offer Kanda his hands.
"Alright~ Bed it is, then~" Hands in his, Lavi pulled Kanda to his feet and then picked him up bridal style, ignoring Kanda's yell of protest. Lavi carried him over and set him in it, promptly climbing in beside him to resume the very same positions on the floor.
Kanda sighed and threaded his hand into Lavi's hair, "Idiot rabbit..." Soft and without venom.
"But yours," Lavi smiled as Kanda did even softer still, sighing and ruffling his hair in agreement.
The game lay unfinished in the floor, but really Lavi couldn't picture a better way to spend a rainy afternoon.
