Tonight we didn't win in Memphis. the 2 bands we went up against were both from the Memphis area. supposedly, the guy who put the thing on was there and told us he liked us best, but that they already pretty much knew who was going to win before anybody even played. That pretty much sucked, but I would hope that had it been here in New Orleans our local Hard Rock would have helped us the way they seemed to have been helped (ie..rigging the freaking judging....but we don't like to cheat to win---we don't want anything handed to us. It's nicer actually earning it in my opinion).
Still in all, we won over a lot of his employees and the owener of the Memphis Hard rock liked us....A LOT.
We sold a bunch of Cds and even a few T-shirts supposedly and got a bunch of people added to our mailing list. So in my view, it was a success. The fact we were even there was a success. I'm proud of them. We did what we do, won a bunch of fans in another town, and left with our heads held high representing New Orleans well.
We're excited about the possiblities that lay before us now, especially when our new press stuff is finally completed by early June. We're on a roll it seems. The only that can hold us back seems to be ourselves.
The end.
