Tomorrow=Memphis=Moment of Truth
Tomorrow afternoon I'm going to Memphis with the band. I should be back by Thursday afternoon. Our 30 minute set that we came up with tonight and practiced only once was pretty tight. I feel like the band is on top of their game right now and still only tapping the surface of their potential. Our web designer showed up to practice tonight and took a bunch of pics.
I'm excited. I think we have a good chance to win tomorrow night. I think if we don't it will be mainly because the voting process is kind of stupid and we are competing against 2 local bands from Memphis who will likely have a shitload of fans there. If we beat them out (both also won their round of the competition like us), it will be quite an achievement. We plan to represent New Orleans well just like last time. even if we don't win, if we win over 5 fans that have never heard us it will be a success. Either way, we'll be in the top 3 in the entire South Central region and would have made it to the final 60 bands in the country.

In other news, I noticed the hornets lost tonight. I had forgotten about the game, but am not surprised. Now they hopefully get rid of Tim Floyd, find a team to peddle Mashburn off to, get rid of a lot of the players except Baron, Magloire, David West, PJ, Lynch, and a couple of role player veterans such as Tractor and Armstrong. The rest are way past their prime or worthless anyhow.
If the team hopes to make it in the West next year they damn well better remake this team, get a coach the players respect, and do a better job marketing the team locally. Otherwise, a losing product in a town such as ours with so much to do, a smaller population than most NBA towns, and a somewhat suspect economy at times will never make it here in the long run.
