I've been keeping myself awake

Aug 19, 2016 17:57

I posted a story yesterday (the day before? technically? on AO3 anyway):

The Only Way Through (at AO3)
Star Wars; Ahsoka & Obi-Wan; g; 1,465 words
The past isn't done with Ahsoka yet.

I do this not just in case you missed it, but also because it makes it much easier for me to do the monthly roundup at the end up the month, which makes the year in review post that much easier to do as well. *hands* I code as I go, so I don't have to do it all at once. I know some people find the relentless self-promotion obnoxious, but I do have other reasons.

In other news, I can't believe Yuletide noms are almost upon us. I have given it no thought whatsoever this year, so now I don't even know what I should nominate! I am much more fussy about what to offer to write than what to ask for, so I usually focus my noms there, but I've been kind of blank about the whole thing, which is unusual. Maybe I'll bring back old faves I haven't asked for in years, e.g., Earthsea, Middleman, Alexander Trilogy, Ocean's 11? Queen's Thief? Gentlemen Bastards? The Iliad? Rivers of London? Amelia Peabody? I could do that. There's also iZombie and Jane the Virgin, which are probably still small enough.

Do we think Ghostbusters will be small enough? I could go for some Patty/Holtzmann.

I should be done with the Abhorsen books before then, maybe I'll want fic for those? And I can always nom old movies I'm pretty sure I could write for (The Philadelphia Story, Singing in the Rain, Roman Holiday, Heaven Knows Mr. Allison...). And there's always Blue Beetle and Gotham Academy.

Okay, making a list like that makes me feel a little better. I now have some grasp of things. Baby steps, I guess. Every little thing helps.
