I was sitting on the 1 train this morning and at Houston they announced that the train would be skipping the Franklin and Chambers Street stops because of "police activity" and that people who needed those stops should go to Rector Street station and walk, which is much further south than I needed to be ( Read more... )

Glad you were nowhere near! I was following that on Gothamist, and yeah, awful. But could have been more awful. NYC is still my city when shit like this happens, even after 15 years away.

Yeah, it could have been way more awful for more people than it turned out be. And I'll take wandering around Canal Street in the snow over being there when it happened.
