Legends of Tomorrow
OH MY GOD, A BAR BRAWL SET TO CAPTAIN AND TENNILLE'S "LOVE WILL KEEP US TOGETHER." ♥♥♥ IT'S AS IF THEY KNOW ME. Just for that scene, and basically all of Sara's interactions with Snart and Rory, I will stick around for a while. Also, I've never managed to get interested in Doctor Who - it's just not for me - but all y'all have made me fond of Arthur Darvill by osmosis, so I am all right with Rip Hunter.
Less cool: Professor Stein, we do not roofie our other halves and force them to do anything, including time travel. WTF? Victor Garber looks like he's having a blast, but that was a poor choice by both Stein and the writers.
Also, when will Hawkman die and relieve us of his awful presence? I don't like the the way he and Kendra interacted/decided to join the team either. What the fuck, show?
Also also, why not GRAY CANARY? White Canary is an Asian lady in the comics. Come on, guys. Be better than that! And also, that outfit doesn't look white to me. Otoh, I love that Laurel and Cisco are now close enough friends that she can call him to make an outfit for her newly-resurrected sister. I did like the Laurel and Sara scene a lot.
The 100
And here's another !!! musical choice. I don't know if this is for real, but the word around my high school circles in the 80s was that "Add It Up" was about a dude who wanted to fuck his mother ("Something won't let me make love to you!") and ends up shooting a bunch of people ("You went downtown and got him a gun"). So that is my eternal association with the song. So it was a shocker to hear the kids rocking out to it (on the CW! Purportedly 100 years in the future!), and then that weird piano version at the end, wtf? I did like that the music was diegetic, though, and it was a fun scene in the jeep before it all went to hell. Though I wish they'd let that dude kill Jasper. Um.
Get it Clarke! Killing a panther and then making time with the nice trading post lady. From Princess to the Commander of Death. That's my kinda career path. ♥CLARKE♥
♥RAVEN♥ FAAAAAAAAAAAVE. I love that they remember that Abby and Raven have a relationship and let them interact in ways that fit that relationship. (I also kind of ship Clarke/Raven so I like to think of it as Raven and her mother-in-law...)
♥INDRA♥ OH MY GOSH I'M SO PLEASED INDRA IS AROUND. I LOVE HER A LOT YOU GUYS.
Opening on Murphy was smart, even if I still side-eye him a lot. He's an interesting contrast to Jaha's vehement messianism.
So this episode was a lot of set up, but set up that makes me desperately want to see the payoff (Ice Nation! Lexa! Clarke! Etc.) so it's all good.
