good love is hard to find

I foolishly stayed up late last night, having gotten sucked into the Giants game, which ended poorly, because of course it did. Ugh. I knew it couldn't turn out well and I still did it. I guess I was riding the high of the Mets' ridiculous and unexpected win in extra innings (they were down three in the top of the 9th with two out and two on; they tied it up and then won in the 10th, which, how did that even happen?), and thought maybe the Giants would get lucky too. Ha! I mean, they didn't deserve to win - they were pretty terrible - but it would have been a nice way to start the season and any time the Cowboys lose is cause for celebration.

Anyway! I was up a little earlier than usual because new boss1 started today. I was here by 8:35 am but she was in ahead of me. Sigh. So I'm going to give up on that charade now. Old boss1 emailed me and was like, "Relax! you're great! it'll be fine!" but it's easy for her to say. She's in Dublin bending her elbow and listening to folk music. I'm sure it will be fine. I didn't even have trouble sleeping! But still. Anxiety. Mostly because our board meeting is in two weeks, so walking her through that process will be interesting.

In more fun news, I posted the Veronica Mars/Captain America crossover yesterday:

we travel without seatbelts on (@ AO3)
Veronica Mars/Captain America; Veronica, Bucky, ensemble; AU; pg; 9,115 words
In which Bucky Barnes discovers that Steve Rogers is not the only tiny blonde firebrand who felt betrayed by SHIELD.

It's set post-CATWS, is not AOU-compliant and is AU for the VM movie.

It was a lot of fun to write and I like how it turned out, and I've been really pleased with the response. Thank you. <3
