City Council budget hearings on health today, and my boss wanted me to stay for the public testimony, so it took up my whole day. Which was fine, but in addition to not eating lunch, I also had no caffeine this morning, so when I got home, I had the worst headache. I took a nap, and now I'm waiting for a chicken parm hero to be delivered, because my god, I am hungry.
I guess with that political lead-in, I can talk briefly about The Good Wife: Red Meat.
So many West Wing references! Of course they couldn't get President Bartlet's wife, she plays Alicia's mother! And Bingo Bob is Diane's husband!
I'm not happy Alicia won - once she made peace with losing I was so hoping they would make her lose, but no. So I don't know what they're going to do with Diane and Cary et al next season.
I did love what Diane got this episode - I love her marriage even though I can't imagine how it works in the long run. But they just dig each other so much despite their political differences! And I enjoyed her sparring with Oliver Babish, I mean, Platt, though I could have done without a rehash of any abortion debate.
And now Alicia has lost both her romantic prospects - she and Peter are going to be a fake married for real power couple forever, and now she's the SA, so she can't easily find solace elsewhere.
In other news, I posted a story yesterday:
Searching for the Same Light (@
AO3)
The Raven Cycle; Blue/Gansey/Adam/Ronan; pg-13; 1,670 words
Surprisingly, or maybe not, it's all Ronan's idea.
OT4/conduit fic with heavy petting! I really needed this story after I finished the books, which I immediately began rereading, more slowly this time, because I tore through all three in about three days, and the next one's not due until September. arrgh.
Anyway, there could be more fic in this fandom, or there could not be, but I feel like at least I was able to pound something out that I like in one sitting, which is the only way I seem to finish anything recently. *looks at longer wsip* *sighs*
