But if I tell the world, I'll never say enough

So I dreamt that "The Sopranos" was rebooted as an a/b/o tropefest with werewolf packs replacing mafia families, but still with the same cast. My brain, man. I don't even know. But get me some of that brain bleach while you're out.

In other news, I made Alton Brown's mac and cheese for my lunches this week (sigh, back at work. I could really get used to having five days off after working for two), and it's pretty good. I also made this banana bread (pic), since I 1. couldn't find the recipe I usually use, and 2. only had 2 bananas. It came out nice and moist (though the recipe doesn't tell you when to put in the oil, I just did it towards the end, with the flour). I used my little 6" cake pan. So cute!

In weird tumblr news, Kelly Sue DeConnick somehow reblogged a post I made in October of Vienna Teng singing Simon & Garfunkel's "America", and it went from having like, 10 notes to having over 600 in less than an hour. For comparison, the prior post, also a Vienna Teng cover, has 8 notes, which is par for the course with most things I post myself rather than reblog. Tumblr, so weird! I'd never had someone famous (relatively speaking) reblog me before. Wow. Both videos are worth watching though. Vienna Teng is so great!

I also almost didn't realize that TV came back last night, but luckily, the internets informed me in time!

Brooklyn Nine Nine: Beach House
Just hand Andre Braugher all the acting awards now. How is there even a competition? The recorder! The disdain for a bubble bath! The desire to josh! The excellently played self-awareness that made the whole thing work! He's so amazing!

"AND THANK YOU POSEIDON! GREAT GOD OF THE SEA!"

I also really loved Vacation Terry (let's be real, I love all flavors of Terry) and that Gina got to see Six Drink Amy and was kind to her! Amy! I love her so much! And ROSA! And Boyle not being creepy with her at all! So many hearts for all of them! But especially Andre Braugher.

The Good Wife: Hail Mary
Oh man, that was one tense episode of television! Plus Herc! Who I never liked on "The Wire" and didn't much like here (the character, not the actor), either, though of course Cary, being the upper middle class white boy he is would need a consultant (and Kalinda to sell her soul to Lemond Bishop) to get him ready for prison.

Oh, Kalinda! Oh my gosh, I am so scared for her! Knowing Archie Panjabi is leaving makes it even more tense! (and hearing that the actress who played Robin moved to LA explains her inexplicable-in-the-text absence, and also makes me sad that she won't be around to take over when Kalinda leaves.) When she said, "I promise, I won't disappear," I was like, "THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT SHE'S GOING TO DO!" (Possibly with a cash assist from Cary? Was that shot of his bank balance supposed to make us think he'd taken the offer from Bishop in the end and was heading for Barcelona? And then he wasn't in the courtroom when cranky judge showed up?) And her FACE when she realized Diane was using the FALSE EVIDENCE instead of Other Carey's REAL EVIDENCE! Oh my heart! (Also, Geneva's FACE. Man, this is going to rebound hard on all of them.)

I also enjoyed Peter trying to help and fucking it up, and for the first time, during the mock debate, I really felt the spark between Alicia and Finn instead of just thinking they had a nice friendship. I would not have been surprised at all if it had been revealed that they'd started sleeping together. I liked that her kiss with campaign manager guy was so spontaneous - just an outpouring of emotion that we don't usually get to see Alicia have - that she doesn't usually LET herself have, because she's so buttoned up, but I don't think it means much in the long run except some awkwardness that will hopefully be hilarious. (Also, I was glad to see someone finally bring up Colin Sweeney as a problematic client!)

And I always enjoy Diane being the BEST because SHE IS. I loved her playing on the judge's love of the dramatic and admitting to it, etc. Oh, Diane! The show needs more of you!

So that was an excellent 90 minutes of television.
