I meant to post yesterday - I had things to say even! - but work was busy and then I was just totally brainfried when I got home. So let's try this while I'm awake.

I basically nodded my head along to this entire post. Amell's talked up the Tommy reappearance quite a bit during his summer convention circuit, but rather than tying into any kind of story, it came off as a throwaway more than anything. I think it might have been a case of how well liked Colin Donnell was on the show, people felt bad about off'ing him so early and the actor was available, so why not -- that sort of a thing. Compared to how emotionally resonant Tommy's appearance was in "Three Ghosts", this was disappointing to say the least.

At least now we know Oliver isn't the only one who suffers from horrible flashback hair!

His "I don't want to die alone down here" was heartbreaking.I legit did a chest-clench at that moment. Stephen Amell was incredible in this ep. Could you imagine SA from early S1 pulling off a scene like that? Wow. I felt so terrible for Oliver in this episode, and there was a small part of me that went, "I should be more irritated at all this manpain on display stemming from Sara's death." But no, I was ( ... )

I really don't understand what the point was, unless they just wanted the actor to come back and hang out.

Why did they have to go and make him even more stalkerish with that Tech Village BS? They could have tweaked the writing just a bit, and it would have been so much less problematic.

Yeah, I feel like a lot of the time, it's worse when it happens like this, because you know they don't mean it to be creepy, and it would be SO EASY to fix, and yet nobody involved actually thinks of it. I wish they would examine this kind of thing way more rather than just putting it out there without thinking through the implications.

(also, hi! sorry for replying so late. I've been a bit out of it lately.)
