I sincerely doubt Lance would be all that gung-ho about his daughter's boyfriend without doing his own serious background checks.

I'm not terribly familiar with the comics, but doesn't Brother Blood have mind-whammy powers? Show!Blood does seem to be extraordinarily good at getting people to trust him and take him at face value - like his underlings (criminal or otherwise) who are all just a tad too devoted; or Oliver, who is not precisely Mr. Trusting, and who seems to feel remarkably positive about a guy who first incited an angry, violent mob against him and then viciously smeared him on TV. I have to wonder if Lance's little speech less a case of bad writing than OOC Is Serious Business.

I did like all the Ollie/Diggle/Felicity stuff. A lot. "You're not my employee. You're my partner." ♥♥♥♥♥♥ If I knew how and didn't find it tremendously annoying, I would make those sparkly, because oh my god, talk about hitting the sweet spot between pandering to shippers and organic character development. HEARTS. HEARTS IN MY EYES.

Not gonna lie, I actually started muttering "Just kiss already!" under my breath during that last scene with Ollie and Felicity.

I believe he does! But I don't know that the show is going to go that route, though he could just be really charismatic.

Oliver, who is not precisely Mr. Trusting, and who seems to feel remarkably positive about a guy who first incited an angry, violent mob against him and then viciously smeared him on TV.

I think Oliver just wants to have someone else to believe in? Someone who can do the kinds of work he - as the Arrow - can't. But yeah, it does seem a little weird for him to pin his hopes on a guy who he's had such a tumultuous relationship with.
