So I got back from seeing Iron Man 3 a little bit ago, and outside the cut I can say I really liked it a lot. And it is about 1000x better than the awful mess that was IM2. I mean, I don't even own IM2 on DVD and have no intention of ever owning it, because it's a terrible movie, but I want to see IM3 a bunch more (I won't, because of money, but I' ( Read more... )

Congrats on getting married!

Pepper is his favorite comic-movie girlfriend, and all I've heard about since the preview with Pepper in the Iron Man suit is "omg, PEPPER POTTS IS IRON MAN!" So I am glad it lived up to his expectations.

YES. I had seen the bits with her in the suit and read spoilers to that effect months ago, but I'm SO GLAD of how they did it.

I knew she was going to come back and wreck shit. Because Pepper Potts always comes through in the end to save Tony's butt, because she is the most epic fixer of all the shit ever.)

YES. The Mechanic and the Fixer. <333

And yeah, she doesn't NEED superpowers... but otoh imagining Extremis!Pepper with IronMan!Tony, going around saving people, hunting things, etc, is fucking cool.)

I WOULD PAY A LOT OF MONEY FOR THAT MOVIE.

omg BRUCE. The credits took FOREVER but that tag was worth it. I like that Tony's thought process obviously went like this: "I am fucked up in the head, even more so than usual. I should see a doctor. Hey - I know a doctor! Bruce Banner, get over here!"

That was totally the tag I wanted, and I was SO HAPPY about it. Because Bruce and Tony are guys without friends and okay, so neither of them is really GOOD at being a friend, but they can be FAILY SCIENCE FRIENDS FOREVER.

Killian's motivations were TOTALLY vague. Maybe they'll become clearer on rewatch. Or maybe not.

As I mentioned above to spectralbovine, I think Killian was trying to cover up that his product was flawed by spinning the accidental spontaneous combustions as terrorist attacks for which the govt could either buy Extremis outright or contract out to AIM to fight the "terrorists". *hands* Comics villainy.

I think Don Cheadle could be in every movie ever and I would be fine with that.

Mmm...yes...
