So I got back from seeing Iron Man 3 a little bit ago, and outside the cut I can say I really liked it a lot. And it is about 1000x better than the awful mess that was IM2. I mean, I don't even own IM2 on DVD and have no intention of ever owning it, because it's a terrible movie, but I want to see IM3 a bunch more (I won't, because of money, but I' ( Read more... )

Re: Killian's motivations: I thought that the plan was to kill the President and install the VP, who would be in his camp thanks to curing the VP's granddaughter (?), and then cause "terrorist" attacks that Killian would in turn supply weapons/Extremis-enhanced supersoldiers to combat.

I mean, I have no idea how well it would work out in the long run since it sounds like it would be a fucking logistical nightmare, but, y'know. Comic book villain! *jazzhands*

As an aside, it was hard to watch that Malibu house get destroyed. I know the exterior was mostly CG, but it was a gorgeous house.

Ugh, yes. I was so happy that they rescued Dummy, though.

I loved that his panic attacks seemed recognizable/realistic (as someone who has had them on occasion) and that he knew he wasn't okay even if he wasn't really doing much about trying to get better.

...I thought that that was kinda what the whole thing with Bruce was about? I mean, he's going about it in a... less-than-constructive manner, but he does seem to be making a genuine effort to talk through what happened and what it means and where he is right now.

He just, y'know. Needs to go to therapy with a doctor who is actually a therapist and not just his extremely patient friend. And occasionally pause his two-and-a-half-hour long monologue long enough to make sure that his listener hasn't nodded off.

Me, too, though it honestly never occurred to me that they wouldn't. I was much more worried about Pepper. *hands*

Sure, but that's all after the fact, and I have a feeling Bruce just said something like, "Wow, you got up to some crazy shit over Christmas, huh?" and Tony was like, "LET ME TELL YOU ALL ABOUT IT. STARTING IN 1999."
