well, you can see a million miles tonight but you can't get very far
I uploaded a bunch of my old Firefly fic to AO3 over the weekend, and it made me nostalgic for writing in that fandom. I might have to do some more of that at some point. I know how problematic it is, but in the end, I think it's the ultimate show of my heart. I even love the characters I find less interesting, or found ways to make them more interesting. It helps, I think, that it ended abruptly and before its time.

So hey, hockey! I don't live and die with the Rangers the way I did when I was younger (and I don't engage with the sport in a media fannish way), but they're still my team, you know?

I'm not doing the snowflake challenge, because I am pretty snowflakey every day, but there are a few things I would always be happy to receive, should anyone want to produce them:
1. Steve/Bucky and/or Steve/Bucky/Natasha fic. I could read a million variations on the Winter Soldier storyline before the movie comes out and makes a version canon (unfortunately, I don't think they realize that it should end with Steve/Bucky/Natasha OT3), and sadly, there are not a million versions out there. And that's not even getting into all the other Steve/Bucky and/or Steve/Bucky/Natasha fic I would like to read, from domestic schmoop (well, as domestic as two former brainwashed assassins and an unfrozen super soldier get) to SPYJINKS to ridiculous cliche and trope fic (only one bed! woke up married! fake dating! let's get you out of these wet clothes!) not to mention the ones where Bucky has a thing for Steve's uniform, or Natasha doms the two of them, etc. etc.
1a. Steve/Peggy! Steve/Darcy! Steve/Natasha! Steve/Carol! Steve/Sif! Steve/ALL THE LADIES. (also, Bucky/Natasha.)
1b. Crossovers: Steve/Zinda Blake. Captain America/Wonder Woman: BEST CROSSOVER OTP. I also think movieverse!Steve/Donna Troy has potential.
1c. I still want Dick and Bucky to hang out and talk about shouldering their mentors' mantles. (I would also like Dick to reflexively flirt with Natasha and for Natasha to be amused by it every time.)
2. Fanart for one of my stories, but most especially Aw Yeah Tiny Bubbles! (Jason's glitter mustache!), 64 Colors, Six Meetings Before Lunch (the bumper cars!), or Your Kiss Is On My List (Carol and Steve in their tuxes!)
3. Spider-man fic that is actually about PETER PARKER and his supporting cast, preferably set while he is teaching and married to Mary Jane (I wouldn't mind seeing a movieverse take on that), though I ship him with a variety of other people, including Steve and Carol and Gwen and Johnny Storm, but I also enjoy Peter hanging out with Aunt May and also various other heroes (and crossovers are, of course, always fun here - I still want Peter Parker & Jaime Reyes to hang out). It makes me sad that when I click on his tag at AO3, there's almost nothing there I can read. (I would also like to see more Miles Morales fic, but at least he's getting good stuff in his comic atm, whereas Peter is...not.)
3a. fic where Peter mentors the kids. Even better, fic where Peter is good at mentoring the kids while Bucky is awkward (I wish they had done more with Bucky and Eli (where is the story where Eli finds out Bucky's not dead?), and I still want Bucky and Rikki to bond more (shut up, she's not dead)) and Logan mocks. (Also, Logan & Molly Hayes. YOU KNOW IT WOULD BE AWESOME.)
4. Fic for my favorite Batfamily pairings: Dick/Jason, Dick/Steph (sekrit batpairing of my HEART), (Dick/Jason/Steph?), (I also enjoy Dick/Babs, Dick/Kory, Dick/Donna, and Dick/Helena, and would have liked to have seen Dick/Kate Spencer, mostly because she would have spent the whole time fangirling Jim Gordon, because yes.), Steph/Cass, Tim/Kon (my honest-to-god DCU OTP), Bruce/Selina, Bruce/Diana (esp. JL/JLU version), Bruce/Clark/Lois, Kate/Renee, or, for the animated Young Justice, Dick/Artemis (or Dick/Wally/Artemis), Superboy/M'gann (I WANT BACKSTORY), and of course, Robin/Raven/Starfire from Teen Titans Go.
In other fannish news, I'm trying to decide if I should get a
trope_bingo card. I've never done any kind of prompt card thing before, for a variety of reasons, but I do love me some trope fic. Hmm...
