nobody knows me as well as you do

Last night, I had dinner with amberlynne, who is in town for work, and it was hours of awesome fangirl talk time. ♥ ♥ ♥

Then I came home and did a little more straightening up, since my TV was being delivered today! And the old one was being taken away! Yesterday afternoon, I called and confirmed, and then I got an automated call from Best Buy confirming, and I was told that the delivery would be sometime between 12 pm and 4 pm and the haul-away would be between 10 am and 2 pm, so I was hoping that the old tv would go before noon and the new one would come before 2.

That is not exactly what happened. Sigh.

The new tv was dropped off at 12:30 pm. The guy didn't even come in. I signed for the box and he left it and I moved it into the apartment (it was awkward but not heavy).

At 2:15, I get a phone call from Best Buy asking me when I want to schedule my haul-away. I tell them that it was scheduled for today and that they confirmed it yesterday. The woman I spoke with kept me on hold for 16 minutes, but then said that they would come and take the old tv away. I hang up with her, start to eat my (now cold) lunch and get an email saying that my haul-away appointment has been canceled.

Needless to say, I was not pleased. Several Best Buy customer service reps got an earful from me - I was polite but vehement - that I took the day off for this, that I could not move the tv myself and that I had already been charged for the service, that the appointment was confirmed and then I spoke to someone else who reinstated it, and then, finally, after another 40 minutes on and off hold, I was told that someone would be by to pick up the tv between 4 pm and 8 pm (this was at 3:45) and that they would reimburse the $30 fee because of the inconvenience. no one could tell me why the order had been canceled, though when the very cute, very strong young man finally showed up at around 6:15 to take the old tv away (all by himself! without a handtruck! I was very impressed), he told me that a bunch of guys called out today because of the rain. Which, what ever! I took a day off so this could be taken care of! Don't jerk me around!

So once the old tv was gone, it took me about half an hour to figure out how to attach the new tv to the pedestal (I still don't think it's the sturdiest arrangement ever, partially because god only knows where my Phillips head screwdriver is, so I did the screws in with a small, regular screwdriver, so I'm not sure they're as tight as they could be) and then another ten minutes to realize that the reason I had no signal was because I needed to attach the HDMI cable. Oops? I only had the one, which I thought was for the blu-ray, which I was unable to hook up because I didn't have another HDMI cable. I will stop off and buy one tomorrow, I guess.

But the tv is lovely, and I'm so pleased I have it.

That meant I was finally able to watch Sunday night's shows:

Once Upon a Time

HOLY CRAP THAT ENDING! It's nice to see Snow being badass in the 'real' world. And I liked that Henry acknowledged that Regina is also his mom and that she should be protected, and that Emma understood that (and also she and Regina need to make out and be Henry's two moms together now). I loved Snow and Ruby's reunion (BFF!) and I thought Mulan was pretty awesome, and I might be shipping her with Aurora now. The one thing I don't get is how Regina used Jefferson's hat. I thought only he could do it? Or was it that she needed someone to leave behind to replace the person she took and that's why she needed him? I admit, I don't really pay a lot of attention to this show's plots, because they don't always hold up to scrutiny, but I am excited at the idea of seeing Jefferson back! And maybe he will get to have his reunion with his daughter? That would be nice.

The Good Wife

The men in the Florrick family need to just STFU and let Alicia take care of business. Ugh Zack. I can't stand that kid. What the hell is going on with Kalinda's husband? The only part I really liked was Will and Diane being awesome partners. And Alicia being a boss. Alan Cumming and Kristin Chenowith and Nathan Lane!

This was a very weird, kind of stressful day off. Too much time waiting. I am not good at waiting. Waiting and I are unmixy things. Plus way too much time on the phone. *shudders* Also, I rearranged stuff so it would be easy for them to get the tv out and so my space was all awry and that always makes me feel discombobulated. Just. Weird. And now I have to work again tomorrow. Without feeling like I had a good day off. Sigh.

My life, so hard.
