Oh, show, will you ever not do the most obvious thing? Please don't let Sam turn out to actually be Neal's father and then get dead. This plotline is already boring me (I am pretty much over daddy issues in most forms and canons), and having the most obvious and cliched resolution to it will do nothing to change that. Soon no doubt we'll discover that he wasn't actually a dirty cop, either, though so far they've stopped short of saying that and just said he's not a murderer.
Also, I realize I'm probably not supposed to, and maybe I'm biased in Peter's favor, but I keep feeling like Peter's right every time he and Neal do the trust-me tango. Yes, Peter did make mistakes and lead the bad guys to Ellen (I feel like they wrote Peter as uncharacteristically stupid several times during that arc - I mean, marking Neal's actual location on a map? Really, Peter?), but Neal is splitting hairs - "I said I wouldn't show Sam the tape and I didn't! You shouldn't suspect me - even though I have repeatedly lied to you - of that even though I was secretly meeting with him!" Really, Neal? I understand that those fine distinctions are where he lives, but I completely understand why Peter keeps hesitating on trusting him fully.
Meh. Bring back the frothy con episodes where they pretend to be Culper spies or El directs Peter and Sara in sexytimes! I mean, this ep was also filmed fanfic, what with the boxing to get out their feelings, but I had a hard time enjoying it when Neal was being so stupid.

I've been thinking about yuletide some more and I think I've figured out my requests, or at least the fandoms:
Captain Marvel: Carol/flying=OTP (since I can't ask for Carol/Steve (they are totally FWB))
Montmaray Journals: Something about Sophie being awesome; also maybe a crossover with my next request
Code Name: Verity: the request would be spoilery, but any crossovers with the FitzOsborne girls would be welcome
Push: Cassie/Nick
That is four completely new requests. I'm not sure how I feel about that, especially giving up the Blue Beetle: Jaime/Brenda/Paco one, which I yearn for. And any chance at more Rikki/Anya or Kate/Eli. (I also yearn for a Jaime Reyes meets Anya Sofia Corazon and Ultimate!Peter Parker triple crossover, though Miles would also be awesome (as an aside, apparently Miles does exist in 616), but maybe someday? I mean, I never expected to get the Broventures of Paco & Kon, but clearly yuletide is magic and anything can happen).
I also thought about Super Best Friends Forever, because fic for that would be kind of awesome. Maybe I will nominate that as a fandom? Are the shorts available for viewing somewhere?
I really hope someone puts together a spreadsheet of the stuff being nominated when the time comes, so I will know what I need to do. I didn't have the patience to page through all the comments at the brainstorming post.

settiai's brilliant Steve Rogers vid The War Was in Color (or at least those of you with any interest in Avengers at all have seen it), but have you seen Never Let Me Hit the Ground, a really lovely and heartbreaking Steve/Bucky vid by PsychoCynic1231 (
your-time-is-now) (this vid has a lot of flashing and fast cutting, so be careful if you have issues with that)?
Or how about this great Community vid: Time to Begin by atsp88? (I still want a Steve/Bucky vid to this song, but it works really well for Community, too.)
