So I was at Alyssa's graduation party and we're sitting around shooting the shit and all of a sudden my phone starts lighting up with texts and emails so I look and ZOMG YOU GUYS CAPTAIN AMERICA: WINTER SOLDIER OUT 4.4.14.

Then Helen asked what I was squeaking about and I tried to explain and ended up with, "You know that guy who plays the Mad Hatter on Once Upon a Time? You know how he died in Captain America? Well, he's coming back." And they were like, "We're happy you're happy."

But my nephew was interested, and I had a good conversation about Spider-man with him and someone else, and also my theory about The Dark Knight Rises and why I'm not excited about it (I don't think Bruce Wayne makes it out of the movie alive, and JGL puts on the batsuit at the end; it makes sense with him being in it at all, and Bane breaking Batman's back is kind of the expected thing, so they would have to kick it up more, right? And there's that bit in the commercial where Selina is like, "You've already given them everything!" and Batman is like, "No. Not everything." Plus Nolan's been adamant that he's done with Batman and also is not helming a JLA movie, so *hands* that is my theory, which is mine.)
In other news from the party, since it's also Dom's birthday (and mine tomorrow) they sang to us and there was cake, and Marg and Dom kicked Peter and little Anthony's asses at beer pong (though all of us older people were like, "this seems like an awful lot of work; in my day, we just drank to get drunk" - aside from the occasional game of quarters, we never played drinking games, mostly because all of our drinking took place either in a park or in a bar) and then retired from the game as champions. It was pretty hilarious.
So it was a good day all around, and I think I even managed not to get bit by any mosquitoes, thanks to a liberal application of that spray stuff.
