you've got the best of me

Ugh, I stayed up too late last night reading A Night to Surrender by Tessa Dare, which is a terribly generic title for a pretty good (if completely unrealistic) Regency romance. It takes place in this village where misfit ladies go to spend the summer, and involves a lot of ridiculous hijinks and some overly flowery but still pretty hot sex for our hero and heroine. I liked Susanna, the heroine, a lot. I was less enthralled by the hero's deathgrip on masculinity and all the stuff about how women just want a man to master them etc. The heroine proves him wrong, but she's still enthralled by how big and strong and manly he is, even though he eventually learns that he can still be a man even if he's got a bad leg and isn't an active soldier anymore.

And even though it was already late when I finished it, I started the second book, A Week to Be Wicked, which is another terrible title, but I think I already like this one even more and I'm only a third of the way through.

But before that, there was White Collar. I only really have two thoughts:

1. How is Matt Bomer even real? Sometimes I think he has to be completely fabricated, because have you seen him?

2. Nobody ships Peter/Neal/El more than Jeff Eastin. I didn't think it was possible for the show to be more OT3ish but last night was... basically, I kept texting
devildoll and
angelgazing at the commercial breaks going, OMG THIS SHOW. There was a plot, but the less said about that the better. I think Peter was just so overwhelmed with Neal feels that his IQ dropped significantly.

okay, 3 thoughts:

3. Every time Mekhi Phifer shows up in something, I STILL automatically say, JUNIOR BUNK TOOK IT DOWNTOWN! and/or Junior Bunk, Junior Bunk, Junior Bunk. *hands*

Man, sometimes people are just SO WRONG on the internet, and I get as far as opening up a comment box to reply, and then I realize it's pointless and I click out. I guess this means I've grown as a person. But I still really want to tell them how WRONG they are. Sigh.
