life is like a song
Work being busy really does make the time go faster - yesterday I completely lost track of time and looked up and it was already 5:15 and I was like, shit, I should go home! - but it also doesn't leave any room for writing, which is a shame.
So I did post a story yesterday:

Avengers (2012); Steve/Darcy; g; 1,730 words
Darcy's never been too excited about being born on the Fourth of July.
Thanks to
major_general for the idea! And to everyone else who commented with ideas. I started two or three other stories before it became clear that this was going to be the one I'd be able to finish before midnight, so it's likely that there will be more Steve/Darcy coming down the pike at some point. I mean, in addition to the two wsip I already had. I really like the idea of them.
Speaking of birthdays - oh, that's a terrible segue but you had to know it was coming - MINE is in ONE MONTH + ONE DAY. So if you'd like to write me a story or record one of my stories or do art for one of them or make icons or something else I can't even begin to think of, there's a rough deadline (obviously, gifts are accepted with great enthusiasm at all times!).
Um, I like a lot of things! I think I'm generally pretty effusive about them, but in case you were wondering!
Avengers is obviously consuming my brain right now, especially if it's Steve-centric - Steve adjusting to the future! Steve coaching Little League! Steve taking art classes! Steve Rogers: accidental hipster is a genre I enjoy a lot. I also like gen teaminess and bro-fic (e.g., Steve & Thor: BROS FOR LIFE or Steve & Bruce: arthouse movie buddies)! but also Steve/Peggy, Steve/Bucky, Steve/Natasha, Steve/Darcy, Bucky/Natasha, Steve/Bucky/Natasha, Steve/Sif - or Natasha-centric (also Clint/Natasha or Clint & Natasha being bros), or Bucky-centric. I also like Tony/Pepper and Tony/Pepper/Bruce, and Bruce and Tony just being SCIENCE BROS (adding Jane Foster here is a plus) and Pepper being awesome! I also really enjoy Darcy/Clint and Darcy being awesome in general.
I still love tons of other fandoms both large and small, so if Avengers isn't your thing, it's okay!
A brief list of fandoms I enjoy reading fic in: AtLA/LoK, Ocean's Eleven, Middleman, Push, Firefly, Harry Potter, the DCU (pre-reboot, also animated), Dark Angel, Snow White and the Huntsman, Community, Sports Night, The West Wing, a bunch of other stuff I'm obviously forgetting right now.
Things I enjoy in my stories include banter, schmoop, terrible puns, wacky hijinks, fighting (or committing) crime, characters being good at what they do, pining, unrequited love that turns out to be requited, best friends becoming lovers, desperate half-clothed up against a wall sex, big romantic kisses in the rain, declarations of love that don't include the words "I love you," improbable crossovers, undercover married, there's only one bed at the hotel, let's get out of these wet clothes, etc.
