Apparently, my nemesis today is Queens.
Which is unsurprising (I grew up there! I know how unintuitive it is!). But seriously, when I send you the address for a meeting, please do not email back 3 seconds later and ask, "Is this the correct address?" No, I am sending you on a wild goose chase through Jamaica! Of course it is the correct address. WTF?
Meanwhile, even though I put an address that is located in Long Island City into Google Maps, the directions instruct me to drive to the intersection of Main St. and Kissena Blvd, which, for those of you who don't know, IS NOT IN LONG ISLAND CITY. Google Maps fail! Also, when it finally did cough up correct directions, it estimated the driving time from downtown Manhattan as 18 minutes. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I don't even know what to do with that except laugh helplessly.
Another source of amusement is that this location in LIC is called Gotham Center. (For a while, I was also getting a daily newsletter from the Gotham Gazette. Sadly, there were no Batman sightings, just a lot of news about what's going on in the city and state govt.)
Hey, I was up too late last night reading Katara/Zuko fic. *facepalm* I'm a little punchy and easily amused. (Normally I don't feel any need to defend my shipping preferences [and I'm not sure that this is so much a 'preference' as an occasional 'craving'], but every time I rewatch, I enjoy how much time Zuko spends on his knees around Katara. I can't help it! They are very sparky zingy! Sadly, very little of the fic I've read actually matches how I see the relationship, generally by being too romantic/soppy. Sigh. I didn't know when I first got the urge to read it that Katara/Zuko shippers have a reputation rivaling the Harmonians for wacky behavior.)
I also read a story last night on the Young Justice anonymeme that broke my heart several times, not least because it is a freaking WIP that hasn't been updated in a month. Sigh. It seems that I'm easy for Superboy regardless of canon. (I'm finding it kind of hilarious that apparently Tim is the best beloved* of LJ/DW fandom, and I'm still pretty lukewarm about him, but Kon totally has my heart, and even though he is completely different on animated!YJ, he's still my favorite. Well, and M'gann and Artemis.)
