I would love to read Batman baking cookies with Martha Kent. I think I want that more than anything.

It is really strange that I spent most of my time in fandom wanting GEN fics with hints of slashy love, and mostly I'm much happier reading fics about falling in love (or something) than the actual porn. (Not that I don't love porn, I do! I just want long gen fics, where things are happening and people are discovering their love, or some form of epiphany).

Most days I want to read the fic about Dick, Tim, Jason and Damian sorting out their shit with one another (or, you know, with Bruce - OK, mostly, I want to read long Jason fics sorting his shit out, and having that talk, or that epic face smashing fight with Bruce that doesn't end in insanity or another trip as Stupid Villain.). I want long fics about Stef finding Cassandra nd shouting at her for leaving without talking to her, without explaining, without contacting her because dammit. she is her best friend.

Or, you know, I want Cassie, Kon, Bart and Tim to go on a road trip together to sort out their shit. Gods, I want this fic so badly.

So, um, in short, yeah, I know what you mean about feeling out of touch with the fandom pulse, and you know, if you ever write the fic where Bruce is baking cookies with Martha I'm so there. (I don't remember which issue it was, but here was this one of strip where Alfred was sick adn Bruce attempted to cook soup, and well, he pretty much destroyed the kitchen, and then decided to jus order in. It was hilarious).

No, I agree. I like the porn sometimes, but mostly I want that for the pairings I'm really hardcore shippy about - the rest of the time, I mostly want gen where there is banter and the sorting out of relationship issues.

I want Jason to sort everything out with everybody! There can be punching and shouting, but I would also like there to be someone finally explaining to him that no, Bruce didn't just walk away whistling after he died, that his death meant something and that his return means something, as well.
