we're gonna dance all the way to the promised land

I feel like I'm either going to throw up or pass out.

board meeting, here I come!

*points up*

I wrote that yesterday, and apparently didn't remember to hit post. That is the kind of day yesterday was. But I survived! The meeting went well, and I did not pass out or throw up!

Instead, after a long crosstown odyssey schlepping leftover meeting supplies (there were no cabs! I had to walk to 3rd and take the bus uptown), I finally got home, heated something up for dinner (I...kind of don't remember exactly what. Um, mozzarella sticks, maybe?), skimmed my flist, and collapsed into bed at 8:55 pm. I was asleep before my head hit the pillow. I slept through until 4 am, when I had to get up to pee, but then I was down for the count again until 7 or so.

On the upside, I feel TEN THOUSAND TIMES better than I did yesterday. On the downside, I missed the White Collar season finale. Hopefully it is waiting for me on the DVR.

Even though I forgot to post and crapped out early last night, I didn't break my streak of posting every day, because I posted a story Monday night, only it was actually after midnight, so technically it was yesterday morning. (Yes, I have a thing about posting every day. It's... a thing.) So, story:

Face Up and Sing
Young Justice (animated); Superboy, Superman, Batman, Martha Kent; g; 1,305 words
"You leave me no choice, Clark. I'm going over your head."

In my comments on the animated Young Justice,
goss mentioned that Martha Kent wouldn't let Superboy get away with such rude behavior, and I was like, Martha Kent wouldn't let Clark get away with avoiding the kid, which is part of why he's so emo. *pets emo!Superboy* I like that they've made it a plot point on the show and I hope they address it soon, because apparently I have a soft spot for Superboy in any universe.

On the one hand, Bruce tattling to Martha is probably OOC? (though there's definitely an element of getting one over on Clark in it. I'm sure Clark will figure out some method of payback.) On the other, this is a universe where Bruce is a good dad (from what we've seen so far), so who knows what shenanigans he might get up to?

It amused me anyway, and I'm really happy to see other people liked it, too. Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it.

I'm kind of torn about how I tagged it - I just used "batman" and "superman" instead of their names. (They're referred to that way in the story because it's from Superboy's POV and he doesn't know their names; I also used "superboy" as a character tag because he doesn't have a name yet on the show. If I ever actually write any Tim/Kon fic, possibly I will differentiate that way, and use "kon" for the comics version? Though I still don't feel like I know Tim well enough to write about him. Though I laughed and laughed at the line in the "No Man's Land" which purported that Tim didn't enjoy doing surveillance and spying on people, and unlike Dick found it hard to sit still (!!!!). That is not what fanon has taught me about Tim Drake [or canon has shown me about Dick Grayson], and honestly, I did read the arc where he goes to Dick to try to get him to be Robin again, so I know he stalked Dick like a wee fanboy stalker, so whatever, Greg Rucka. Possibly one day I'll feel like I get him more than I do now and actually be able to write him. And wow, this is a long parenthetical. Sorry about that.)

I suppose it depends on if I write any more with them as main characters; very little of my old SV fic was posted to my LJ, and it certainly wasn't tagged, so I didn't really have any precedent. I've been using "batman" as a catch-all tag for all my generic talk about DCU stuff, so possibly it's not really useful as a character tag too. Hmm...
