i am not alone now and i am not afraid
Monday, at random:
= Ugh, I hate waking up at 6 am - a full 90 minutes before my alarm goes off - and not being able to get back to sleep. That just ain't right. I got my period this morning, though, right after I woke up, so hopefully that will be the end of that nonsense for a few weeks.
= I'm definitely suffering from the dumb today - this morning I made my sandwich and wrapped up a couple of minicupcakes for lunch... and left both on the counter. Oy. I remembered my coffee, though.
= Speaking of minicupcakes, I made raspberry glazed chocolate doughnut cupcakes yesterday (well, technically they're supposed to be doughnuts, but I don't have a doughnut pan, so whatever).
The recipe is really easy. I didn't even use a mixer. I cut the butter into the dry ingredients with my hands, and used a fork to whisk the wet ingredients. I needed a wooden spoon to mix the wet with the dry, but overall, it was pretty easy. They're tasty, but I'm going to cut out the nutmeg next time, I think. It overpowers the chocolate.
The raspberry glaze is delicious, though I only added one tablespoon of powdered sugar, not 1/2 cup, like the recipe calls for, and it was absolutely smooth and sweet enough (more than sweet enough, tbh). And I again used a fork instead of a hand mixer, and it worked fine.

= Unexpected fanboy sighting at work! Not for anything media fannish, but it turns out one of my co-workers turns into a squeeing fanboy over the Jazz Age. I have two books sitting on my desk that I haven't taken home yet: The Poisoner's Handbook and Dry Manhattan, both of which were recommended by one of you, and he saw them and was like, "Oh wow, you like the Jazz Age too!?" and then he went on a bit of a flail. It was adorable.
= Have you seen the new picture of Korra:
She looks FIERCE.
Internets, I AM EXCITE!
= I am going to go make copies and hope I don't screw up anything too badly today because of the dumb.
