We went to the hospital last night and my mother was up and sitting in a chair. She's cranky and in pain (they've given her a heart-shaped pillow to clutch to her chest to help with the pain, along with some good drugs), but she looks good. Believe me, my father's got that covered. *snerk*
But yeah, we're going to meet with the care coordinator, the physical therapist, and a social worker before she's discharged, to get the skinny on home visiting etc., so I will definitely be keeping track of that info.

When my dad had his bypass, they gave him an actual teddy bear for that. I don't know if it helped him, but the cuteness factor of him asleep in the chair with his teddy bear helped me
