i have waited with a glacier's patience

This morning, I got to Whole Foods by 7:30 and managed to get a cab even in the rain (it is a balmy 60° today, which I enjoy even if the rain is torrential; at least it's not cold), so I schlepped my catering order up to the office piecemeal and then there were people around who helped me put it all out, but even my boss was like, "NEVER AGAIN." The food is good and the presentation is lovely, but if they can't guarantee delivery by 8:15 am, then we can't use them for 8:30 meetings anymore. Because I am not doing that again. Jesus.

The meeting went well, though, despite the various hiccups and now I am done, DONE I TELL YOU until mid-January, when we start gearing up for March.

The only problem with these meetings being first thing in the morning is that I'm pretty much done for the day afterwards - not just getting here early or schlepping a case of water around or whatever, but cleaning up afterwards and then sorting through all the extra random crap that somehow finds its way to my desk. Oy.

I am totally ready for bed now. Once the DayQuil wears off, I'm not sure I'll be able to function.

Last night, innie_darling and I went to see The Pitmen Painters, which I enjoyed a lot. It was really good, if a bit didactic/heavy-handed in some ways. I really liked all the big speeches about how art is transformative and how making art can change you as a person, which makes you ready to go out and change the world. Also, it was funny and charming.

Now I'm at least two weeks behind on The Good Wife, as well as FNL and possibly other things I'm blanking on. I've dropped a few shows this season without even missing them (Criminal Minds, Big Bang Theory, Glee), and these two, plus Fringe, are the only ones I actually care about. Weird.

Speaking of which - Fringe, I mean - have you seen this amazing trailer for this week's episode? SO AWESOME! (I highly recommend viewing Fringe unspoiled - I am not really a spoilerphobe? But for Fringe, if you haven't been spoiled, seriously, just watch it cold, because it's totally worth it. Very high HSQ in the good way.)
