I'm so ridiculously tired. That lost hour of sleep when I stay out on the island Sunday night kills me on Monday morning. Sigh.

I thought about this, and really, I think there’s only one possible answer to the question: Leo McGarry. I still get teary thinking about it. I think the impact was absolutely doubled because John Spencer died, and we knew they were going to write it into the show as Leo’s death, and the way they did it was absolutely heartbreaking. I remember sitting on my couch sobbing during the episode. I can’t imagine how the actors must have felt, having to call up that grief in character. Sigh. Leo. Or Gerald, as Lord John Marbury used to call him.
Wow, that’s a downer note to end on. I enjoyed doing the meme. I hope you enjoyed it, too.

On Saturday, I finished reading Margaret Atwood's The Blind Assassin. I highly recommend it. I enjoyed it a lot, even if I can't say I really loved any of the characters. They felt real to me, though, and the writing is amazing - what she does with the four layers of narrative that are going on in the story (i.e., Iris now, Iris then, Laura's novel, the story told within the novel). I liked that the revelations all felt true and earned (I'd figured them all out ahead of time, but I think you're supposed to - Iris says as much) but not pat - more like inevitable.

I posted a story yesterday:
The edge in your affection broke my skinBuffy; Faith/Buffy; adult; no comics canon; 1,400 words
This will just be one more secret between them that no one else will share.
Shockingly, this is the first Buffy/Faith I've written, considering they're probably the closest thing I have to a girlslash OTP.

Ugh. Someone is eating something with fish in it. The smell is nauseating. *gags*
